Glen, and others:

In case you didn't notice it tucked in the middle of the hoo-hah about the electric bike, the liners have been waiting all day at the start line - for the wind to get perfect for them.  We visited twice -- and they're waiting as fast as they can wait for conditions to get a little better.  We'll go back there in a few minutes and see what's going on.  I'll let you know.

I got the run logs!!!  Alan Rice gave 'em to me -- and I've sent 'em to Deb Dross so she can refarkle them from .dat files into something that's reproduceable on the site.  You oughta see them here sorta soon, as soon as she and Todd get home from Lowe's.

In the meantime, the liners did not run this afternoon -- the winds only picked up.  We talked with Mike Akatiff about 6.15 tonight -- he says they'll be out first thing in the morning to try for runs when the wind is quiet.  We'll be there then, too.

Here's my first stab at the BUB run logs. It contains 9/2 - 9/4 for the Long (Intl) and Short (Mntn) courses.

Nice job Darlin, I know it was alot of work last nite and on the train this morning...  thanks. And most excellent dilligence there as well Slim!

Some awesome speeds happening out there - way too many to name... but congrats to everyone doing so well so far!

Don't forget folks... with the way Deb does this the logs are fully interactive so you can sort anyway you want (singulary or overall) via the top row pulldowns. I personally just show columns A,B,C,E,F,G & M to make it easy visually... then I sort whatever I want and only stretch out other columns if I want all the info on any certain runs.

I reccomend beggining by setting up a visual the way you want (comress the columns you don't use), and then saving it to your hard drive. This way any changes you make will be easy to recitfy if you get lost or can't back to where you started.

From what I can tell from the log:
Money Race up to now:
Team Assentec Racing has the fastest fairy mile at 235.238mph
Noonan has the fastest non-fairy mile at 237.035mph

I'm not 100% on this so don't yell if I'm wrong and I missed something.

Nice spreadsheet. I sure see the difference between SCTA record keeping and Bub. There is a lot of missing data.

A tale of three pistons.
Jeff Wuerl took his 1650 PG M 147.590 mph. If it was a single cylinder it would be the size of the first circle.

Roger Goldammer   took his custom beauty 1000 PBF APS 147.264 mph. Nice speed for a blown fuel 1000. If it was a single cylinder is would be the size of the second circle.

Team BUDDFAB took their   50 S AF   streamliner 147.383 mph. Their piston IS the size of the third circle. John and Eric have done a spectacular job.

The big guns have yet to run and we may see a new absolute record. If they do I will be super impressed. But not as impressed as running 147 with a tea cup piston. Oh wait! It's 1/2 the size of a tea cup!

Well, it used to be Los Angeles . . . 50 miles north of Fresno now.
Just remember . . . It isn't life or death.
It's bigger than life or death! It's RACING.

Severe Irony I hope!?

Amazing... I don't think the air even knows they were there.

So is Noonan bike 539 then?
Anyone hear if McVicar has run yet?

BTW, just noticed I left the MPH in the speeds column which makes it difficult to sort. Sorry. Will fix it up later. I just banged it out quick & posted without really checking data. (if you have it saved on your hard drive just change ' mph' to '' in those two columns & it will be sortable as a numeric field! ;)  )

McVicar drove in yesterday to the salt. I would expect him to run today sometime. I talked with Jason yesterday around midnight and he says he still a little sore but should be ready to throw a leg over the bike. He is riding the smaller turbo bike that went 255 at speedweek. What a great competitor he is. And there is nothing like getting back on a bike after what happened at speedweek. Be safe jason.

I know the streamliners were going out early to run this morning if wind was good.

Sorry gang, I forgot I had this!!!
Attached is the Bub entry list. This should help to cross reference to the run log.
Hopefully we'll receive the remainder of the run logs a little more timely.
With the weekend coming I'll try to get them merged upon receipt and a little more purdied up.

Deb thanks for doing this, but would it be possible to also save the file in Works format for those of us that don't have Excel??  My works is suppose to import those, but for some reason it doesn't.

Thanks,

Sum

Well yesterday running of the meet was explained to me as like "herding cats"

They shut down the course for awhile for the streamliners to run, but they never did.

They also had a course shutdown because Noonan  lost a cell phone on the course. So they had to search for that and eventually found it.

Max Lambky was working on his clutch.. It's running too rich and weren't able to get it up off the idle circuit under a load and clean up. So some tuning there for them and a gearing change.

This soooooo sounds like Noonan. I understand losing a cell phone. But ON THE COURSE? Was he talking to his pit crew so they could send instructions on how to steer?
