Okay -- I've locked the "pre-event SpeedWeek topic so folks don't have to go through 20 pages oif stuff to find the latest information. This should be the one we'll use for the next week and a half, okay?
So here we sit, at nearly 9.30 AM, and no toilets. Trevor called yesterday to confirm the units will be here this morning, so if you're out on the salt and reading this -- unh, grab a couple of clothespins or something and hold it for now.
The salt, as I reported yesterday, is the stuff that adds about a half-inch to your height for every step. And Lynda reports that someone has already broken through into the mud - but was able to get himself unstuck without a tow. Stay well to the right of the cones when you're driving in - and hope that it continues to be 90++F and nice winds - all the better to dry things out. Here in the pits seems to be the worst for right now, but I see one of the drags working to removed the slushy stuff and give us a good based on which to park. After being dragged they'll let the newly-bared salt dry for a few hours.
And like I told you testerday - bring flyswatters!! They're everywhere.
