Courses
« on: July 20, 2020, 08:50:33 AM »
I have only seen reference to two long courses being prepped. Has anyone seen suggestion there will be short/rookie as well?

Two 8-mile courses, and at least one of those will be a combination course.  At least that's how I'm planning the toilet layout.

From what I have heard, Intreped didn't pump last year. There is salt covered mud where the one mile test track, and 3 mile short coarse is.

Tell ya what I'm gonna do:  The toilets begin arriving Tuesday (11 August) so I'll get to the salt by Monday, I plan, and I'll try to get in a tour and report to you on conditions before I crash that evening, k?

Jon, I sure hope that was a typo.  August 11 is three days into the meet.

Okay, guys, donchew worry.  I'se just jerkin' yer chains.

We've asked HB to deliver at least some of the units a day earlier than usual, and that date is 4 August 2020.  JoAnn and Joyce and Delia and all the other lady volunteers that arrive early in the week (and no doubt a few of the guys, too) have finally had their way and won't have to cruise to the truck stop 'til after lunch Wednesday.

For the sake of it, getting the toilets and stuff there too early isn't much of a benefit.  A good number of the units get placed in specific locations (timing tower, pits, etc), and those locations are often not chosen yet.  The toilets are installed by Honey Bucket crews, not me - I'm not so good at swinging a sledgehammer -- so final placement doesn't happen 'til Weds and even Thursday.

About private rentals:  if You've ordered anything it'll be delivered to the salt by the date you specified.  The units are stored in a cluster near the registration end of the pits and it's up to you to get with HB to check out and get your unit(s).

Check the salt cam

I check it everyday and it does look wet and heavy out there. Jack the camera link is in general chat. I will bump it back top the top so it's easier to find.
