Ed Tradup had a good Christmas. I have noticed that He got several things for Christmas and all are in the shop.
1. A new big Band Saw
2. A tubing notcher
3. Several dollies to move things around
4. A jerrico transmission core
5. A plastic dummy motor for set up
6. A 20 plus foot very large I beam.
I think something is going on. There will be more later.
-
Brian, build diary's take almost as much time as the build itself.
I am learning. You have been warned.

5. A plastic dummy motor for set up
any ideas what engine(s) this would represent?

.....hoping to one day see a movie as good as the book....
Joe :)
-
Frued: You know I was thinking about that. You guys are the experts. We will have some some updates and pictures now and then but nothing like you guys are doing thats work. Thanks for the warning.
-
It is going to be 4 wheel drive and two engines. WE are planning on picking up the tubing in Portland when we go to the NW Reunion. Along with a new dyno that Socci got. He had a good Christmas also.
-
Keep us posted Brian. Happy New year to you all and I will make it up sometime to check the progress. Vince
-
Four wheel drive and two engines, this is getting to be a recurring theme here! Looks like there is going to be a need for a 400 club! What color for the hat?
Do you guys plan to uses a shape similar to your existing car?? Probably one of the very best aero shapes on the salt. Keep us posted.
Rex
-
I'd vote for no hat at all -- but windswept hair blown straight back, and squinty eyes to keep the salt out of them.
Okay, back to you, Brian. See you in Portland?
-
whats up :?
-
We are in gathering mode right now. Lots of chalk on the floor.
-
It starts to get exciting when the cut twice measure once starts.
FREUD
-
Tubing shows up tomorrow.
-
don't erase the chalk lines on the floor yet.
-
Have you guys been busy and just laying low????????????? :-D
-

From "The Wenatchee World" yesterday 12-13-2011
http://www.wenatcheeworld.com/news/2011/dec/13/brewsters-danny-boy-team-plans-speed-car-comeback/
yet when I was going to post this great news I got this Warning: this topic has not been posted in for at least 120 days.
Unless you're sure you want to reply, please consider starting a new topic.
So, are they really working on it? :-D
-
They say they are.
FREUD
-
Yes we are. Machining, gathering, planning, We just don't have the man power for a digest of progress or the expertise to do such a project. But YES we are working on the new car. We are also taking the Lakester down to the frame and refurbishing everything. We are busy for sure.
-
So, as I have read, the original quote is "There's no respect for 200. Let's go for 300."
Is the new quote "300 is so passe'- let's go for 400."? :-D
I look forward to seeing this build materialize! Good Luck!
-
Sparky: I am taking my camera to the shop tomorrow for a few snap shots of the progress. Just a heads up. The next thing is I will have figure out how to post them on here thats where the trouble may start we will see. Stay tuned.
-

The team was on KOMO news the other night and morning with a 4 minute plus story. We think they did a good job. Go To Local speed demons air to build 400 mph racecar. www.komonews.com look for videos. It is about Richard and Ed starting 30 years ago.
-
i saw that . good story. good luck.
-
Nice Piece. The car looks like it is progressing pretty well. Reminds me a bit of The Rhinocerous as far as engine placement and general layout goes...
-
Brian, if you are at Gas Up this weekend I'll "learn ya" about posting fotos on this site.
Did your daughter desert you? She would figure it out in a heart beat.

Good clip, thanks for sharing.

I must be blind, I think I wore out the site looking for the article. Read a couple of others.

Just type "speed demons" into the stations search box.
-
Or it is a lot easier for someone to just copy the URL for the proper link.

-
Great short documentary film of a long LSR friendship - I posted the link to all my Facebook friends.
-
come guys give us an update-- at Salt Talks RT said that the frame was mostly done!!
-
A Quick update: Yes we are working on the new car. It is just slow. The first rearend transmission should be here anytime. Most of the tanks are done and being fitted into the frame. They look great. Most all of the engines parts have been gathered and will soon go together. The body is pretty much done. It will not be ready for 2014 but hopefully 2015. Merry Christmas to everyone. Keep the shop warm.
-
Another update: We are busy doing several things at the same time. We are working on our web site and it will be up running soon. We have also put up a facebook site. Go to search for people, places and things at the top of facebook page and type in Dannyboy Streamliner and click enter. Go to Liked
and click get notifications click and add to interest lists click. Also click follow. This will keep you updated on pictures and updates on what we are doing. There is alot of pictures here. Brian
-
DannyBoyStreamliner.com Web site is up and running. We are still working on the gallery. We will have it up soon with a lot of pictures of the new car we are working on. We are getting the lakester ready to go to SpeedWeek this year. We have made some improvements and will be running the same configuration as the New Streamliner will have engine wise and computer wise. Hope to gather valuable information.
-
That's a nice site.
The builder did a great job and the layout is great.

-
Really nice website guys.
I'm looking forward to the gallery.
Pete
-
Nice website. I saw the lakester last year at Speedweek. Sure is a pretty car.
-
Website looks good!
-
A little update: Ed has been working on the new trailer really hard. Its a roller now. Putting fenders on and finishing the welding. The first Rearend Transmission has been shipped. That is great news for us. Jason has all the tanks done and mounting nitrous bottles and fire bottles and plumbing to the front and rear. The Lakester engine is basically done and ready for the dyno. Then we get the Lakester ready to go to Speed Week. pictures to come soon on the web site.
-
Things are coming along. We have a facebook page that has a lot of photos. most recently our Trans axle was at the SEMA show. Good pictures of it and a lot more. Go to Facebook and type in DannyBoy Streamliner. enjoy.

Mike
-
Thanks Mike I had no clue how to do that.
-
Or we can do this......
-
Michael;
That suspension appears to be a simple parallelogram arm type that has no camber gain in chassis roll. Are you sure you want to do that?
Regards, Neil Tucson, AZ
-
Would camber change be desirable for a streamliner .
-
It helps.
Regards, Neil Tucson, AZ
-
With a 53 foot semi-trailer full of money they can do whatever they like.
If it doesn't work......change it.
