World of Speed 2021
« on: May 06, 2021, 09:24:46 AM »
After a ten year absence I made the commitment to run WOS 2021. Entry sent in and hotel rooms booked.

My plan is to get my naturally asperated D motor refreshed and head out to WOS. I would like to get my car through tech and get my license up to an "A" again. This motor went 203 in 2011 in 4th gear without using 5th. This motor should get my runs in for my 175 sticker and then do a pass or two over 200 for my "A".  Next year come back with a more competitive combination and do both Speed Week and WOS. Well that is the plan for now.

Who plans on going to WOS?

See you there. Waiting on cylinder heads to be rebuilt. finish engine, install and dyno test. Seems simple except for the million little details that take so much time.

Getting closer. Should be ready for some dyno testing in a week.
To do:
2 New Fire bottles
4 new tires
Because I am going to WoS to renew my "A" license I will put the 3:50 gear in the car. the car ran 206 on the data logger in 2011 with the 3:5. All I am looking to do is work up to 201 for my "A". If the car is running good I have a different front air dam I may try. Next year I will have a more capable motor to try and qualify with.
So looking forward to getting back on the salt. Business, family and three college educations got in the way of the racing budget... how quickly a decade slips away!

Help I checked my arm restraints that I got in 2011. They have the D rings but they are solid 1 piece not open D's. Looks like stamped steel. They have sfi sticker but date never punched or it wore off. I'm running the 150 in my 79 T/A. Booked my room registered driving up from Scottsdale. They are RJS Racing safety parts.

As most of you have already heard, due to circumstances beyond our control, there will be no gasoline or fuel supplier at World of Speed this year.
This means that those coming to the meet will need to supply your own needs for gas or fuel. For those that are running in the gas classes, if you qualify for and back up a record run, the gasoline you used will be tested in impound.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but we have no viable alternatives.
How to see you all next month.

Just bought 6 additional VP 5 gallon jugs for a total of 40 gallons. I read where the DOT limit on personal fuel transport is 440 lbs. So there should be no violations for us.

New belts and fire bottles. Final chassis dyno test on Sunday 15th, scale the car, then to the alignment machine. Fix and paint the patch on the fiberglass hood, essential equipment, safety gear and supply check to be ready to load the end of August. Pack and test parachute. Buy fuel. Then a 1,593 mile tow from St. Joseph, MI.

I posted this on the other thread where someone was asking for a pre-entry. Before I cancel the hotel rooms I thought I would see if anyone needs an entry and two rooms for WoS.

I may have a pre-entry and two king size rooms at Montego Bay available. I will know more tonight after I diagnose my engine problem.

If you have an interest PM me and I can let you know tomorrow.

The rooms are from Sept 8-12th and $748.20 each if you used all 5 days. you can cancel up to 24 hours before so if you don't need 5 days you can drop the days once the Res is transferred.

Thanks,
