Title: Texican - Jim Halladay passing
Post by: PorkPie on March 15, 2024, 06:58:52 PM
I just got the sad news,

that a long time member of the Landracing.com Forum,

Jim Halladay....know here as TEXICAN....

passed away, after a short illness, on the 9th March, in Salt Lake City

he was a lifelong buddy of Ray the Rat,

and was the scout & caretaker of the Target 550 team at Bonneville....he was the first at the salt for the team and took care for the spot in the pits and the set up of the well known tent of the Target 550 team....

Jim was a great friend of mine for a long time...he always said to me....my home is your home....whenever I came to Salt Lake...his place was my stay.....and I could feel like home...

Jim, I will miss you.....and you will not forgotten....keep on truckin' at your new place

So sad that Jim is gone. He is joining a growing group of landspeed racers. My condolences to his family and friends

I am so sad to hear of Jim's passing. What a wonderful man he was. Always there to help in any way he could. Everyone on the Target 550 Team loved him. Jim always had great stories to tell when there were down times at Bonneville. Jim you will be missed. May you rest in Peace and Godspeed to you.

Tom G.

I really liked Jim. Always helpful and generous. He ran a pickup class truck IIRC and tried hard.

RIP my friend
