The most impressive run made all week was made just minutes ago. Eddie Marlen in the #66 BMR B/F roadster. A brick with barely a 100 inch wheel base just ran 308 mph and NO blower. End of discussion.   :clap :clap

Agreed!  That's amazing!

Justin,

When the new car was built it had a KB block and Brad Anderson heads. I am sure they have changed a lot of things over the years. One thing to remember is Jerry Darian is one of their best friends and use to drive the coupe. He is an A/Fuel guru in the drag racing world and has tuned Force's girls etc.

No it is not an Ardun as the valve covers state.  lol8 lol8 lol8

Doug did his homework when he built that car.

It's a B / Fuel (Unblown) Roadster.

Looks like one of the rare Double Plug Arduns.  I'm not sure, but I think you gotta use the late 49-53 Mercury block.

I heard on the stream today about the mini pick-up running. I think I heard it ran 220+
Does anyone have any details about it. Every year I hear about it but I always miss any details.

Thanks all.

Only if you run un the vintage class.  They are not, so that rule does not apply.

Probably wouldn't get to the 373" minimum required in B.  I guess it'd be hard to get there with a flathead.
(But I do know a guy who has a bunch of Lincoln V-8s that might get there.)  The mystery goes on . . .

I'm going to guess that VP figured out a way to get more than five  10 gallon pales to the fuel truck.

Someone here has a totally different idea of what is barely 100 inches of wheel base. Dougs roadster built to the limit and barely 100 inches is not it. Doug built his roadster to go fast, it has, and is great to hear and watch.

I agree that it is the story of this Bonneville Speed Week.

I'll echo what JD says.  And that's not saying there's anything wrong with their roadster.  It's built to the rules and still looks like a roadster, not that that counts anymore in some of the roadster classes.

I would bet they were supplied by Ferguson to them. They are also good friends.

Stan, the biggest cubic inch Ford or Mercury passenger block anyone I know ever made was Tony Miglizzi who dragraced one in a dragster. It was a whopping 352" Flathead, I could be off a couple of inches but that is what I remember he told me. And as Tony would say it would only last 10 passes before needing a total rebuild. RIP Tony.

I didn't get a chance to listen to much today. Other than the Nitro roadster on a 300 mph backup run tomorrow morning what else is up for a record ?

Oh, the Speed Demon with a "small" engine ?

Are those the two big runs for the morning ?
