Tough crowd...
I decided to take my bike to BMST instead of speedweek.
Figured that if was going to put in the effort, I'd rather try for an
AMA national record.

They can be a bit easier than SCTA, depending on your class. What are you running? (I?m not just baiting Stan)

The SCTA doesn?t have a problem with those who have a problem. But without a solution included the SCTA doesn?t have a problem.

The line to volunteer is over here somewhere =====>>>>>.

It's Speed Week, not speed weekend.  I for one, am 1000% grateful for all the SCTA, BNI, and other folks who volunteer their time and talent to putting on the entire event.

Let's have a big round of applause for all the volunteers!!!!!  Hip Hip Hooray!!!!

I also whole heartedly agree with Steve's comments. As someone who has been unable to attend due to not being able to cross the border with my race truck for the last two years (thanks COVID) I'd be happy with whatever days/times were provided. If they told me I could only run once a day, I'd still drive the 1000 miles to attend.
This may have been mentioned already but if you look at the entry fee price (especially spectators) and divide it by the number of hours you can be on the salt around (or in ) race cars and friends, it's pretty cheap!

I made no comment on the volunteers, no comment on the length of the event as a whole, or any comment on any other aspect of the event. We had a great time as usual, and thank everyone involved.

I merely asked what was behind the decision to shorten the end of racing from 6 to 5:30. 2 pages of responses, but none answer the question.

And FYI, I have spoken to some of the SCTA about volunteering. I?ve been participating since 08, I?m about due to start putting time back in.

"Old people need their rest.... OK it is a volunteer organization...
I heard it and saw a couple of days they stopped at 5:30...
I like the 7:30 leave Impound, not because I like to sleep in, but because the sun is less in the driver's eyes because it is higher above the horizon.
