www.rentmotorhome.com

I rented two trailers there and they are delivering them to the bend in the road.  Nice people and they rent motorhomes too.......

This might sound like a stupid question, but where is the bend in the road.
We have a motorhome rented to come down and watch Speedweek, but we have no idea where we're parking it at night.
I've heard about camping at the bend, but no clue where it is.
Directions would be great, GPS coordinates would be even better:)

when you get to lands end (where the asphalt ends and the salt begins) the last turn you took, about 5 miles back, is the bend
Records or parts, I didn't come all this way not to break something.

mrmarkfr;

When you exit I-80, go straight, past the truck stop on the asphalt road, until you get to a 90 degree right turn-- that's the "Bend In The Road". You will see lots of cars, trucks, trailers, tents, etc.; just find a spot and make yourself at home. Attending the "Salt Talks" on Sunday evening is a good way to meet people and get some hot dogs, burgers, etc. It takes place right there at the Bend.

Just enter the following latitude, longitude values in google maps.

bend in the road camping area ----  40.761041,-113.969135

Lands end ----- 40.762341,-113.895664

And please remember, the road all the way from I 80 to the end of the road is a county maintained road. They also maintain a strict 45 MPH speed limit. It may appear to be a 55 road, it is not. When in town, 35 and stop for people in the crosswalk.

Thanks for the info, will help alot.
One last thing, is there a place we can service the RV(grey water, black water, fill fresh water, etc) close by, either State run or paid?

Yes.  KoA in West Wendover has dump and fill service, and there's also the new RV/campground near the Nugget casino/hotel -- but they're so new that I don't know that they have facilities for you.  Getting fresh water isn't much of a problem - there's a spigot at the big truck stop in West Wendover.  I don't know about other places to dump, but I do know that sometimes the portable toilet company supplying the racers' porta-potties will also pump RVs.

Ask more questions -- we'll try to answer 'em for you.

I just saw a post from a Wendover resident SHe say The Salt Flats Cafe has reopened.

It is in a building at the airport. There are other food services in the same building.

She just ate there tonight.  Let's hear if for THE SALT FLATS CAFE.

I like these directions "if you get to the salt, you've gone too far"! 8-)
