Hi,Can anyone explain what benefit there is if any by extending the rear of the hoodscoop to the windshield or at least to 1\2 inch from the windshield ?? The car in question is a 1971 Camaro. thanks

Look up Bob Griffith Racing on the web. Take a look at the hood on this car. We built it to the rules. The shape takes a lot of the air off of the windshield (more or less flat surface) and moves it up and over the body then drops it down into the spoiler. It ran 246mph. The Wonderful One

Ok I will do that, I could see that it could reduce turbulence in the windshield and cowl area.

Depends on the shape of the scoop, my first guess
is to reduce trailing vortexes behind the scoop.
