Being a Mtn Biker I tend to have a few scars. 3M Steri-tape is the best. Stays on in the shower, cuts heal fast. Too fast, I have some Metabo cutoff wheel in a finger that I taped up so as not to scare the wife. Yup, healed in :-o

I started using it after I had it used in place of stitches at the ER, saw the cost of a roll of tape vs. ER bill and then saw the light!

I like the 1/2 and 1" rolls.

Like others have said I often use the med grade type superglue or liquid bandage stuff these days. Even that has a tendency to rub off fingers and get dirty quickly so once it has dried I often throw a Band-Aid Brand Tough Strip bandaid on over it. The fabric type not the soft foam padded type. They hold up well through multiple hand washings and seem to last through the day in a machine shop environment. I tried some of the generic brand fabric offerings and they were not as good.

Real men just put wheel bearing grease on it, wrap a shop rag around it and tape it up with 200mph tape and go back to work.

Add a little chewing tobbaco amd around here that concocktion is called a poltus...

Usually I like to make sure the cut is clean inside before I close it up, like washing out the dirt and gravel, etc.

WW, how would I have a great story to tell if I cleaned it first?  I swear that the dark glob under that scar on my finger is a bit of the dirty grease from the gouge I put in it when taking the valves out of the '47 Pontiac straight-8 engine I rebuilt when I was a junior in high school.  It's given me a zillion opportunities to show what happens when one is NOT careful while wrenching.
