Mid-engine Comp Coupe

 When and why did it become illegal to build a mid-engine comp coupe, i.e. the Chrisman coupe? Who was the last person to build such a car? Why is not permitted to seat the driver in front of the engine if all set-back rules are met. Not trying to rock the boat, just curious.

The other mid engine coupe was the JADO coupe. Big reason was handling issues they were banned.
