'K' Lakester Project
« on: May 16, 2011, 12:30:24 PM »
' K' LAKESTER 90% complete.  This is not a backyard assembly.  The aerodynamic concepts were verified with a Fluid Dynamist.  The Chassis is not the result of  a bourbon induced inspiration.   The Chassis is a Swift DB3 road racing chassis that has been modified for LSA.  It complies with the 2 liter specs so the car can be upgraded with larger engines.

The engine is a 500cc Kawasaki triple built by Aylor Engineering, cost $4500.
The chassis features inboard suspension to keep it out of the airstream (yes, you really do want some type of suspension).  It has a 5 speed transmission with a clutch and  direct chain drive , not a snowmobile clutch with a jackshaft..

The car is open cockpit now.  I planned to race El Mirage with an open cockpit and I would build a canopy for Bonneville.

What’s left to be done
Clutch linkage, finish throttle linkage
Wiring
Wheel adapters to accommodate the rear wheels
Finish body fitting and painting
Mount fuel tank and fuel system
Re do shift linkage
Seat

The car comes with:
Front wheels and tires - AA fuel dragster front
Rear Wheels and Tires - Funny Car front
Gas shocks on all springs
Racing Fuel Cell
Electric fuel pump with cut off
Windshield
Body work

Just about everything you need to finish the car.

Lots of pictures available.  Call or send an e-mail

$7500

Can someone help?  I'd love to put a few pictures on this site, but for the life of me, I can't figure out how.

I have quite a few pictures, if someone is interrested, send me an e-mail and I'd be glad to send them.

Looks a little big to me to beat a Jack Costella design.

The Kawasaki 500 is a 3 cylinder H1 engine.  It has custom porting, custom made intake manifolds, big carburators, big expansion chambers, Electronic ignition.  According to Aylor Engineering, it should make close to 100 HP.

The transmission has had all  componants magnafluxed, and has been gone through by a specialist.

The car is sold, but the engine is still available.

It's a Kawasaki H1, three cylinder, 500cc.  Built by Aylor Engineering - Ported to the max, custom made intake manifolds, big carbs, Wiseco pistones,  new clutch, comes complete with expansion chambers, ignition system, coils, throttle cables, clutch cable.

Also included is an electronic tach that can measure EGT and cylinder Head Temperatures.

I'm throwing in a selection of sprockets to complete the package

The transmission had been gone through and had all gears magnafluxed
$3500

Plus shipping.  I'll deliver it within 300 miles of Phoenix
