Bill visited the SSS pit today to get some t-shirts (since his car is on the shirt) -- and to tell me about how the driveshaft went all kaflooey and broke.  He's got a fix coming, and also was looking for a Tremec to put into the car.  He asked, being new to Bonneville, how to go about asking on the radio or CB for some help or a tranny - so I suggested that he just grab the microphone and ask, during a quiet time -- or go to the CB radio tower down at the 4 1/2, where Glen Barrett is holding forth, and have Glen ask.  Sure enough, about ten minutes later - Glen made the announcement.  I don't know if Wheelerdealer got his stuff fixed yet -- but he's here and has started having fun the Bville way -- running, breaking parts (well, not really fun but it IS part of the game), and learning how we all help one another.  Welcome to the salt, Bill.

When I hear more I'll keep you updated.

Good news on Monday the 2100 was doing 191 and still pulling getting my B license. Bad news is it broke the drive shaft and took the transmission with it. We are shopping for a trans and will have a drive shaft made. So far the car drives straight and handles decent. I need a 94-97 model 5-Speed BorgWarner out of an LT1 Camaro if someone has one within a few hundred miles of Wendover.
Drive Shaft $$$
Transmission $$$
191 MPH at Bonneville PRICELESS!

Bill, glad you are OK and glad you made a pass.

Good luck on another tranny and driveshaft..

(note to self,,, bring extra tranny and drive shaft to Bonneville in 2012)

Keep us posted,,,, we are getting ready for a 200+ run at Maine in September,,, big C motor is getting redone... little C just did not have the HP needed to beat it's 188 mph best... so putting in big brother,

Charles, sorry been very busy. Got a new drive shaft yesterday had to take it back today they made it 1 inch too short. Matt welded the transmission ears back on the case. We took the tranie apart and did not see any internal damage. We installed  the transmission this afternoon. We will finish it tomorrow morning. New fore bottles will be at the hotel about 10am... We should be on the salt in line by 1:00. The first goal was just to get to Bonneville, Second goal was to break 200 MPH. If everything checks out we will try for the deuce tomorrow. It was pulling to 191 at 7,200 rpm by 2.3/4 when the shaft broke.  I think we can get 9 miles an hour out of her for my "A" license. Last goal learn as much as I can.

Mike and Al in tech were great... I learned a lot from them. I really appreciated their experience.

This was definitely worth the effort. Everyone has been very helpful. Met Linda and Jon, and a bunch of forum folks.
