Bill did you get the T101A  from Doug in Mooresville NC ?

Also that ratio seems off a bit,, the first gear is kinda tall  2.18?  I prefer at least a 2.6 to 3.2  first gear.  the other 3 gears seem ok for your cu.in. and HP,,, I have a closer ratio for 2 to 3 and 3 to 4 shifts as I have less cu in and HP in the E motor.

as far as the rear gear.. I miss read the gear # and put a 2.67 rear gear in my Stude last meet for my last 2 runs on Sunday,, I pulled it just needed more track as rpm was still pulling at finish but was 900 rpms below redline,, so I know that would be a good Loring or Bonneville Gear.  You have more HP than I do,, so a 2.92 should be your final gear for B'ville and around a 3.05 to 3.13 for Loring (but if you could only use one gear for all all 3 tracks,  I would go 3.0 as a good start)

Remember you are going to running at 4-8000 da  :-o at B'ville  is there any way you can get around 1.20 for a 3rd  for a 3.60 FDR

My 3rd gear ratio is a 1.23 so I don't drop to many rpms from 3rd to 4th shift.   I guess bigger motors can take the drop from 3 to 4 shift,, I know I can not take a 30 point drop.

Charles, yes Doug sold me a 101A. I will call him and he will set the gearing up as I need it.

Sparky, thanks for the input, I will ask Doug is I can get a 3rd ratio that you suggested.

Last question, Safety Film for the glass windows. Is there a specific product out there it is the clear heavy mill UV blocker we sell at the dealership for people who dont want "tinted" glass?

thanks, Bill

Cage updates almost done. One question...on the containment seat, we updated the head support on the left hand side to the new SCTA requirement with a Kirkey full containment. Are the restraints required to attach to the cage if it is a Kirkey seat?

Bill if you can grab the lateral head restraints and shake the car you are ok,, if you grab them and shake and they deflect more than a half inch and the car does no rock, then you will need to add some sort of brace or strut to stiffen them,,, from the looks of the install you are just fine as it is..

Nice progress,,, looks like you will make Loring ???

Bill, the restraints and seat should be attached to the cage. You want them to move together in the event of an accident.

Hello Bill,
I was glad to see your car on the cover of issue #159 - we've been waiting for it to come out. Wendy was really great to put John's Geezer article in.  Ben Herr, our #1 Geezer, loves the BRN. I just got my subscription as well. Really great stuff!

We'll be following your trip to Bonneville - we plan to build a bigger bullet for the Express and go next year. Or maybe the year after if a race series breaks out in Ohio...!

All the best to you,

Geo Turner

Geezer Racing:

Thanks for the kind words. You guys had a fast car at the last Maxton event. I really like your car. What motor is in it?

A lot of things to do to get the car finished but I have a lot of help and we will some how get it all done. We are going to stop in Nashville and pick up Kixmiller's black Sanoma and take it with us. It will be great to have someone with some experience working out of our trailer. Lord knows we need all the advice we can get.

At first I was concerned about Ohio and it being so far away but if it is a good smooth and wide facility then it will be worth the tow.

Hey Bill,
Our Express is running a blown 383 sbc that had spent the last 15 seasons in a hot boat. Ben always said that it couldn't be beat 0-100 ( on water!)Anyway, one more event in Loring and its being retired. We'll be watching the oil pressure closely.
We're really hoping for a venue in Ohio - we'll be all about contesting the series if its "only" 6 hours away.

Best to you,

Geo Turner
