Belly tank lakester project for sale
« on: April 13, 2011, 09:09:54 AM »
For Sale:

Belly tank project, includes:

One belly tank, 18.6' long. x 29" dia. 3 piece tank. Nosecone 58" long, straight center section 82" long, tailcone 84" long. Vietnam era tank.

Two rear ends, one 70's era Frankalnd quick change enclosed axle stock car type unit and one 1994 almost new Lincoln Town Car disc brake rear end. Franklin rear has no brakes or spare quick change sets.

Two front axles, one a 30's era Ford with Ford spindles and wishbones modified for and including Heim joints, the other a straight axle from a mofified circle track car.

Two steering units, one a Ford Escort rack and pinion and the other a alloy Corvair box.

Four engines. 2 Jaguar straight 6 cylinder, one 3.6 L, one 4.0 L. These are the 90's era all aluminium 4-valve chain drive twin cam units, 250 hp stock. These are not the vintage cast iron alloy head 2-valve engines. Jag engines include a 4 speed ZF non computer automatic transmission. One Chevy II (actually MerCruiser inboard 140 ci (3.0L) with the big valve 8 port head) 141 CI 140 hp 4 cylinder engine. One Alfa Romeo late 70's 2.0L chain drive twin cam 2 valve fuel injected (mechanical) 4 cylinder engine. Engine includes the Alfa 5 speed standard transmission. The Jag 4.0, Chevy II and Alfa engines engines are rebuildable cores and are not run out blown up units. The Jags and the Chevy have no intake or exhaust manifolds. The Jags and the Alfa have no ignition systems.

Also a possibility on 3 2002 GM  Trailblazer chain drive Twin Cam 4-valve, roller rocker all alloy straight 6, 275 hp engines. These are warranty engines that had defective cylinder liners. They are virtually new. Need new liners. Each one needs a piston, each damaged due to cylinder liner cracks.

Two sets of wheels, one set 15" Centerline alloy (front set 4 hole Mustang and the rear 10 hole) and one set Ford 15"  5 lug alloy solid disc wheels that came originally mounted with spare tires in Lincolns I think.

Also included one 5 gallon Moon "style" used water tank and one rectangular used aluminium oil tank, plus a vintage 3 spoke steering wheel and racing foot pedal assembly.

If you look on page 48-49 of Bonneville Salt Flats Speed Limit 1,000 mph by George Lepp pictured is a tank like the one I'm selling.

I am a motivated seller. I am retiring and moving. Will no longer have a large shop to work in on cars plus I have too many bike projects to find time to finish this one. No time or space for cars. Prefer to sell everything as a lot. Will consider selling engines seperate. All else must go together.
Asking $3000. Open to all and any offers including trades. Trades such as British motorcycles and shop tools. I need a new TIG welder for example.
