Moving!
« on: April 08, 2011, 12:05:20 PM »
After being in business for 18 years, we can finally afford to fire our landlord. :-D

Some LSR folk have been to our Corona address (310 S. Maple St #F, Corona CA 92880) but it won't be there after this summer.

Our new building is at 688 Parkridge Ave, Norco CA 92860.  The ph# will remain the same (951) 270-2667.

I've had a lot of "free" time lately sitting in an empty building waiting for utility, city, realtors, locksmiths, etc, etc.  But when the basic infrastructure stuff is done, and I can start moving equipment in, I'll probably vanish for a few months.

Here is a pic of our new building:

Congrats!  Hope the business move will not keep you from getting Casper back on El Mirage this year.

I'm crossing both my fingers and toes that we get some "fun-time" this year, we are planning on it.  Robert Miller and I will be at Elmo this year with or without an entry.  We are going to learn to do Patrol, and try to get Robert his SCTA license.

But the only engine we have ready is a "backup engine" made of spare parts, stock heads, cam, pistons, etc.  Just better rods.  Our "max-effort" engine is still at the builder's.

Pat,

Good luck in the new building.

I love the USA. How much longer will we be a free nation?

Asking questions is one's only way of getting answers.

The rational person lets verified facts form or modify his opinion.  The ideologue ignores verified facts which don't fit his preconceived opinions.

Good luck Pat. It is always nice to go from paying a landlord to paying a banker and eventually no payments.

Pat - you're only 4 blocks from the Fender Guitar Factory - Mecca for us geeked out guitar guys.

Now THAT's a hip zip code!

Congrats on the new digs.  I would miss my neighbors.

I digitized some guitar necks for Fender, and my daughter has taken guitar lesson at their Museum of Music.  Everyone in our family back about 5 generations plays the guitar.  So must my kids; if I had to learn, so do they!

The last neck I did was hand-sanded by the owner, and he wanted Fender to copy it, I think it was Axel Rose? or some other bazillionaire Rock Star.  Not sure if it was Rose, but when I remember who, I'll post it.  Fender was REALLY paranoid about it, and were scared something might happen to it.  "This can't be replaced, DON'T LET IT OUT OF YOUR SIGHT!!!"  It was very worn, and even had a cigarette burn mark on it.

Wifey says she knows, but not Axel Rose.  She was a big fan, she's checking the server for the info.

That's what I said.  :-D

Kat insists he's some kind of rock star. :?

I shot rows of points about .25" apart all the way down the back of the neck, then surface modeled it.  Fender then programs their CNC mill with the data, and makes an exact duplicate of it.

Once a hero of mine now he is circling the drain Howard Hughes style. :-(
