3 litre Station Wagon Classing Question
« on: March 27, 2011, 07:52:58 PM »
I'm sure you guys hate these questions, but I'm having a tough time figuring out the classing.

3 litre gas engine with forced induction (turbo) in full size station wagon... where would it run?

Depends primarily on what you want to do to the body and if the turbo was an option.  There are a few possibilities, but you need to determine how far you want to go with it.

GARB.  (Get a rule book).

If it came with the turbo it would be a F/Production supercharged. The Station wagen body runs as a Coup/sedan.

The vehicle in question (1993 Ford Taurus Wagon) has the 3.0 from a 1993 Ford Taurus SHO swapped in.  The car was naturally aspirated stock (either car) so the turbo would be a modification.

Since the wagon runs as a sedan/coupe, that simplifies my search for a class.

I think.

Now that makes sense... as much as calling a station wagon a couple can make sense.  :-P

Looks like the record is 203.720 last year in a Suzuki Kizashi.

Don't bore it out -- the E record's 264.

Just because you have it doesn't mean there is a class for it.
