I remember meets in the late 70's with 50-60 entries. A lot of us ran our pickups and family sedans. I 1984 I fought it out with my son; his 76 Chevelle against in moms 73 Monte Carlo. He ran 109 and I ran 110. Both 4 barrel 350's.

As I remember it Bob Higbee's VW square back followed Warren Bullis's van down the course to complete the day....and Warren didn't empty the van either. :roll:

It's a blast now, But That must of been fun. A tenth of the entrees half the rules.

More like 1/2 the entries -- we're talking El Mirage here.
