Greg Neal article in Throttle Nation!
« on: March 05, 2011, 09:01:11 PM »
Congratulations to Greg Neal of TLN Motorsports for the excellent LSR article about him in the most recent issue (Vol 1 Issue 6) of Throttle Nation.  The magazine sponsored the 2010 September Streetbike Shootout at Maxton.  The article is 4 pages long with lots of great color pictures of Greg and his bike which is a Kawasaki ZX-6R.  Check it out!
Nice writeup Greg!!

I have to give a very big thank you to Don Smith and to the good people of Throttle Nation Magazine for the article on our 190 mph run and the Throttle Nation Top Speed Challenge from this past year.  The link above does take you to the 2010 Top Speed Challenge results, but the article is not currently available on line.  If you are interested you can check your local Barnes & Noble for a copy of Throttle Nation.  So far they have been a bimonthly magazine.  The article really high lighted our efforts and put Land Speed Racing in general in a very positive light.  Thanks to all of you who have helped us in one way or another along the way.  We hope to see you all in April at Maxton.  Thanks again Don and Throttle Nation.

Hey, Greg:

First of all -- congratulations on your fast runs, and second of all on getting the bike to run so well.  Now - more kudos to you for getting your photo in the Throttle Nation article.  I viewed said article yesterday, and noted the first link does NOT work - but the second one does.  I tried again this morning, going first and only to the second link given above -- and I got the same article that I got before.  That was on a different computer, which therefore allows me to draw the conclusion that yes, the article is still on line.  Whatever your results in trying to view it, folks -- a big hand shake should go to Mr. Fast Guy here - for his recent accomplishments.

Yepper, congrats on the article Greg!  Glad to see it hasn't changed you.  Ransom doesn't even send me email anymore since that article made him a celebrity!   :-o

Milton, what's to change.  I'm to old to take myself to seriously. :-o  The links above take you to a small article about the Top Speed Challenge.  The magazine article isn't available on line.  I'll have a copy with me at Maxton for anyone who might be interested.  Don Smith and Throttle Nation did our team and land Speed in general proud. Barnes & Noble usually carries the magazine.  Their website has the cover of the latest edition on it.
Now for more pressing issues.  Maxton is almost on us and we do not have either bike completed yet.  Some parts issues really set us back.  Hopefully we will make it.  looking forward to seeing everyone.

Thanks Paul.  It's been a hard off season for us and we are acrambling to be at Maxton in April.  Not a done deal yet though.  The 600 is close finally as it came off the dyno with a solid 144 HP and a strong pull from 12000 through the rev limiter at 15,280.  Not sure we will run it at Maxton until September though.  The plan was for Texas Memorial day weekend, then Maine.  We didn't have nearly this amount of HP when we had the big sppeds at Maine.  The weather will be the key.  Hope to see you somewhere this year though.

Sounds like you've got a busy schedule planned!  I've been too busy to get any work done on the 750, but plan on getting it ready for Sept or Oct.  If we miss you up there next week we'll see you later in the season.  We're planning on going next week with my BMW R1200S just to see what it'll run.  I'm curious to see what a pretty much stock 1200cc air/oil cooled boxer "sport bike" will do!  And of course it'll give Keith a BMW to laugh about!

best to you--

Paul

Thanks everyone for your kind words on my writing. Now if you want to support those that support our hobby, subscribe to the Magazine Throttle Nation. No I am not an employee  I am just a freelancer that submitted the article and photos etc. As you know Super Streetbike used to be involved with the Maxton motorcycle event in the fall and when they dropped it, Throttle Nation stepped in and hosted the best event ever with by far the most prizes for winners and pages for the article too.

Its not expensive so SUBSCRIBE !! Then you will have your own copy of the magazine in print ever issue. It keeps me working too.

Thanks again everyone.

Don Smith
