Even in our saturated climate, I see no rust on the display car.

Go ShopGirls!

I'm an NPR fan, but remember, we saw it FIRST here on landracing.com!

Heck, I even like the colors!

Thank y'all for your interest - good first day of paractice runs - ShopGirls did get 4 laps before dropping the chain due to a loose engine attach bolts. teh urban car 2 drivers each got about 10-12 laps; our in-official calculation is 226 mpg - let's see tomorrow's official runings - stay tuned

Thank you Target550 for your support

All done - the UrbanAutos winning the Urban Concept car diesel category with a new Americas record of 186.5 MPG beating Penn State by more than 33 mpg. Once again we were the only 2-seat car, so - Satuday evening our senior student/driver James Vest gave my 90 year old mother-in-law Tess Taylor a ride in the parade lap - needless to say Mom had a blast.  The ShopGirls placed second in the protoype diesel category with 378 MPG and won the Safety Award.
WOS in September is the next outing for our Urban car - stay tuned.......

Wonderful news -- and great effort on the part of all of you -- students and instructors alike.  What a great way to get youngsters (?!) started in life.

I went to college at Michigan Tech, and when I was there the school had a girl/boy ratio of 1:19.  Then Tech started running programs for girls and women - Women In Engineering was just one of 'em.  Now the school has about 3 or so men per woman - and there are many more women in what we used to call the "guys" fields of study, like engineering and physics and so on.

This is a great start, I say again, to what could be a big help for our whole country to get more technically-trained folks in the workplace.  Corngratulations.

Can the Urban car be a parts chaser for the Target550 project?

Congratulations to both teams.

Kudos to both the students and teachers, for a job well done.

It's great to see school programs like this, that were not available when some of us were in school!

You'll have to show up at WOS, Freud.  It will be VERY cool seeing this one on the salt.

Congrats to both teams - well done!

Yep.....guess I'll have to announce the NEW time line to Marlo on Wednesday.

If the kids can make it, we should also.

Thanks for the reminder, Midget.

Maybe we can be the parts chaser for them  ! ! ! !

I don't know, Freud - those are some pretty rare parts they've put in that vehicle.

Gosh - I just thought.  The Urban Concept is a two seater.  If they put together 499 more of them, switch it over to gas, and bore it out to 1000 cc's, they could run I/GT  :-o

Maybe I should stop encouraging them . . .  :-D

All kidding aside, there's a saying in this sport . . .

See you on the Salt!

And I am looking forward to it.
