Jon - as the Grand Poo-Bah, can you get us a "facility" in impound? After all, you're a wizz at this stuff (sorry, it just HAS to come out..... QUIT, Dan!). Or maybe our new trailer (eat yer heart out) will have one. Dan W probably has this in order.

Well, Dan, I guess it's worth it for me to ask -- what's wrong with the four that are on the boundary between impound and M/C tech? And the four or five that are on the inspection line boundary with the vendor area?
Or are you saying that you want one right by the Impound awning/desk? I wouldn't if I were you -- the PP units have been known to become a tad gamy on a hot day, and if you're planning on sitting at the table and trying to write down information - while wearing at least a clothespin on your nose, maybe even a full gas mask -- well, if those things would be okay I guess I could take it under advisement.
Realistically -- hey, it's a hundred feet or so to a half-dozen of 'em. That's not close enough?
We're getting a few more units this year than last -- mostly, though, for the bigger-than-ever crowd that's expected at the Bend in the Road - as well as maybe an extra here, one more there. We'll see -- but let's let DW230 have a say in the request. I know he's got a good nose -- at least he can usually identify if the beer is more than a few months old.

Seems like if you can't make it to the back of Impound, well, I guess for some, it Depends.

Stop - stop!
Impound has easy access to plenty of facilities. We don't need any within closer proximity.
Thank you for your concerns, but no thank you.
Moving on, DW

Heard at the SCTA board meeting last night,
Monday, Feb 7th, internet only. Peppermill group is releasing a block of rooms for Speedweek. Direct from Mike Cook via John Hansen. No further details, number of rooms, etc.

I just made my reservation at the Montego Bay. 3 nights minimum, up front, non refundable. $233 a night +tax. Couldn't make a reservation later than the 16th. Totally outrageous.

Let see now, regular room rates are from $43.00 a night to $55.00 a night. Speedweek for one room $2400, non refundable. What ever happened to gouging investigations by the state attorney general? They can keep there rooms, we are camping out this year. We spend plenty on our amatuer hobby, we don't need to ad to that by these outrageous rates imposed on those who can't afford it. With the ever increasing cost of safety gear, speed parts, fuel to get there and home I suspect many who want to participate are being priced out. Very sad state of affairs. Reminds me of what the NHRA did to racers way back.
