Linda Saylor Pitts
« on: January 16, 2011, 07:53:57 PM »
It is with deep regret that I report the death of Linda Saylor Pitts, wife of Lionel Pitts. Linda waged a valiant two year fight against cancer.  Linda was a very sweet woman, and just as laid back as Lionel.  Those that knew her were lucky, as was Lionel.
There are no services planned at this time.

Lionel,
I never had the opportunity of meeting you or your wife, but we have been battling cancer with Willie for quite some time now. It is one of the hardest things I have ever had to deal with and I know what you have been going through, up until this. My prayers are for you to find peace in one of the most impossible days of your life, when she finally let go. Know she is with God and not in pain any more. I know it doesn't make it any easier, but at this point it pretty much is out of our hands. I hope you find comfort with all the prayers and special thoughts that come your way from the landracing community. I don't know where I would have been a few times if I didn't have these comforting words coming my way and there to see at any time needed.
God bless you Lionel and God bless your wife.

Lionel, you have faced many challenges. There is no doubt that you have just dealt with your biggest challenge as you lost Linda.

We are slow to heal following the loss of our mate.  Our words may seem inadequate and we are not in your presence to support you.

Please accept our best wishes and whatever support those wishes  provide you.

My inability to provide any measure of comfort leaves me feeling totally inadequate.

Let all of your friends help you through this period of extreme loss.

Love, friendship and compassion,

Glenn Freudenberger

I think Lionel could benefit from a little more support.

He too is experiencing a terrible loss.  There just hasn't been as much written about it.

Agreed, loss of a spouse is a life changing event.

Having only been going to Bonneville and on this forum for about 5 years I have no idea if I had the pleasure of meeting Lionel or Linda at some point during the last 5 years. There are so many people at Bonneville that I know only by sight but have yet to spend time with and meet as a person.

Lionel: I can only offer my most sincere condolences for your loss and the knowledge that time softens the pain, especially if we focus on the good and kindness that each person brings into our life.

Like Sheri I never had to the pleasure of knowing you or your wife.  The loss of a loved one is a difficult time.  Words are of little consolation.  But sometime words are all we have to offer.  Please accept my sincere condolences and prayers.

Nancy and I have watched just about everyone at Bonneville, and got to know many.  Lionel - was another guy that we'd talked to a few times but didn't know well.  That doesn't mean that I don't (sort of) understand the feelings that are coursing through him and his family these days.  I think about how my life will feel, will be, when I lose my wife (or she loses me).  And it's something that is difficult to acknowledge.

Lionel, Nancy and I send our condolences and good wishes to you - and to the memory and spirit of Linda.  May she rest in peace, and you live to enjoy another day.

I don't think I had ever met either Lionel or Linda however the loss of a loved one I am sure is tough and a very trying time to make it through.

Stay strong Lionel, with friends like Freud and others you have a great support system.

Rest in piece Linda.

Saying goodbye to LSR family members is not an easy task, our family has lost a very nice lady.
