If one searches for "land speed racer for sale" it's listed a couple of places for $500,000 and may have sold at an auction a few years ago for $440K.

You could buy the first one and finish it to a pretty high level and have change left over out of the 500k you didn't spend one the second one.

For $500,000, I would rather have one of my own, built the way I wanted, and have change left over to run it. LOL To each his own.

"Got'Cha" was first run in 1974. Bill Temple entered both 2 clubs in 1976 with records in AA/BGR. At El Mirage 201.79 and Bonneville at 220.
In 1977 Greg Temple started driving "Got'Cha" and entered the El Mirage Dirty 2 club in 1979 @ 201.97. Greg went on to set two records at Bonneville, one in 1981 at 241.848, then in 1991 he set another record at 262.230
Bill and Greg were the first father and son to enter the El Mirage Dirty 2 club. They broke the D/BFR at Bonneville in 1981 @ 241 with top speed of 249. This record still stands today. In 1991 they set the A/BFR @ 262 which was later broke by Duane McKinney.

This is one of those "needs to be restored" cars. Just bring it a few more miles down I-15 to my shop & I'll show it all the loving it deserves.

I know this is a little off topic but my first version of my current car set a record with less then 10K in everything including the trailer.
I know peeps have done it for less, but a few have done it for more.
BTW:
I got more in her now....

I've got less than $2000 in my sidecar and four records to show for it. But if you were to charge for the hours I have in it............................................................

I agree, 1/2 a mill is a really outrageous number. I see somebody was prepaired to pay 20 & change! Last time I looked it was still 2010 & we are still in a recession & a buyers market. Thats what just allowed me to buy a 605 inch Keith Black for $3,000.

LOL. Thanks for the heads up. Now I just need to find the $500,000. LOL.
Looks like Bobby Green is selling one of his surplus tanks.
Thanks MM, I did play a dollar on the lotto the other night but just contributed like 99.9999999999999999% of the other folks who play do. LOL.

If you think the odds of winning the Loto are long after buying a ticket ,consider what the odds are if you don't buy a ticket.

I look at the chances of coming out money to the good on the lotto -- by considering how much more I'll have if I never buy a ticket but rather put the $$ into the piggy bank.
