Then why is Section 3.U entitled "Windows and Windshields"? It talks about a "windshield" being recommended for open body cars, and also mentions removing "windshield" wiper blades. Perhaps they should recommend a "window" for open cars, too. As for me, I'm just glad I don't have any "window" wipers to remove!
The point I'm trying to make is if they're going to call something by a certain name, they need to call it by he same name throughout the rules. A windshield is in the front, but windows are on the sides (or rear).
But seriously, I really do appreciate being referred to as a young'n!

Jeff,
Those terms for the windows have been used for decades in the SCTA rule book. It is understood by the vast majority of our competitors, who are mostly over 50.
You young'ns need to ask your Grandfathers what some of the words mean.

Jeff,
Why don't you go through the book and fix all these things. Send 'em to me and I will correct the 2012 book. I will take input from anyone who cares.

Dan:
I might take you up on that - if I end up with enough time on my hands. That's basically what I do for a living. Can you get me an electronic version of the 2011 rules?

Nope, not allowed.
You will have to do like I do, from your personal copy.

ho-boy...... Can we racers ever get caught up in arguments over the meanings of words.... LOL.....
Some good info on the HANS type devices....Of course, I am way up in the middle of the iron ore fields up at the top of the world in Labrador... going to be here a while too..... but this is where money for racecars come from...... so, I was hoping that a device or two will be coming on to the market from other manufacturers.
We have, so far, still not made the investment in a HANS device..... what I thought was of value about the ISAAC device is that one unit could be used in both of our cars- which have substantially different seat angles.
