Buddy,

You have indicated that you are competeting in Gas Coupe classes. Top chop 3", equal/front and rear. There is no allowance for looks.

DW

I'm with you there, Dan.

Question is, can we lay the 'b' pillar forward a bit to make it fit, or do we need to add a strip of metal to the roof, and lengthen it to make it fit?

It's impossible to simply cut out 3"- From what I can tell, one of the above must be done.

Please understand that I'm not trying to be difficult. The rule is somewhat ambiguous, and I just want to know what the acceptable practice is.

With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine. However, this is not necessarily a good idea. It is hard to be sure where they are going to land, and it could be dangerous sitting under them as they fly overhead. -- RFC 1925

Buddy,  You may have lead us a little bit off topic. This thread is suppost to be "CLASSIC ALTERED" top chop.
So I went down behind the barn and found a 1934 Ford coupe. It has approx. 11 inch windshield opening. Then I reread my old dogeared rule book again. The way it reads to me,(combined with dw230s first post here) I can chop 5 inches, and lean the front posts back approx 2 inches, and paint /CGALT on the side, and its all legal?
Is "CLASSIC" under modified?   Is Winfield's GCC under modified?

Somebody please help me understand,     Thanks, ERVIN

My apologies.
