Acme Rocket Pack
« on: November 18, 2010, 09:06:19 PM »
Wanted, an Acme rocket backpack.  Extra money paid for the Wyl E. Coyote autographed "Roadrunner Outrunner" model.  Also, enough fuel for two five mile bursts.

SCTA has no class for it. Tell them it's a roadster and it may pass tech.  :-D

The most cost effective (not to mention stealthy) option may be 2 large cans of Bush's baked beans the night before your run, combined with a "ventilation panel" in your leathers. All perfectly legal under AMA rules at BUB.

I've considered it myself.

This is legit.  All the tech rules apply to the vehicle.  None mention the rider.  Nothing says the rider has to be on the bike, either.

The Laverda Sidecar on that site is a whole lot more than a wheel-on-a-stick!

I'd link it if I knew how -- it's a REAL side-CAR!

Now that is what class jumping is all about! I can see one vehicle winning both the car and m/c championship at El Mirage.

There's only two problems with this rocket idea.  I seem to recall that Wyl E's rockets either went straight up with him on them, or straight along the ground leaving him with burnt fur at the launch site just after he lights the fuse.
