Sparky what I based my experience on was, the two passes I made early in the morning (7:30 and 7:45)at speed when the course flags were barely moving the car ran straight with only manageable skittering around but the passes I made in the car midday when the flags were laying over in a westerly direction when I went over 175 MPH the car shot across the track two times with me in the same direction as the wind.... and I'll admit it did scare me!  I just wish the Quick Time header valve hadn't broken on me and I would have got all the speed out of the engine that it was capable of.

I'm including a picture of the chassis and one of the broken header valve, you can see where the exhaust pressure bent it partially open, no doubt it restricted the air flow through the motor.

Someone at Maxton told me if I was serious, I should chop the tank... so I did.

Wonder if I could squeeze her into that slick Charlie Toy suit with a little tailoring?   :-P

Looks like some one got bit. :-D

That is what happens .When the LSR  BUG bites you. Your motorcycle looses its seat, gas tank top and all resemblance to its former self. Cant wait to see it run.
Thank you to all the volunteers

I love your "superleggra" frame! I have an extended neck mount... but not nearly as light weight. Nice!

Well hello and happy new year to everyone.
I am just starting on this years projects for the car.
I am going to try several new pieces and see where that leads to among the changes are- a new header,a bigger turbo(have already run it on the old header, very impressive),possibly a full exhaust(depends what the dyno says),we have done some aero work(I am going to try and get to a2 before we race it again to see if we made it better or worse),more aero work forth coming, freshend motor, reg. maintenance, several general improvements to the car to make life easier at the track, new oil pan, possibly upgrading the entire fuel system(AGAIN), and I'm sure I missed a couple more things.
I am going to try and make the April Maxton race, loring, oct Texas mile, quite a few local drag passes, a couple of big drag races, and possibly a couple of other things thrown in for good measure.

P.S.-probably also adding an E.G.T. data logger.

Mike,, no problem on the GPS,,, anytime... the 33 did good.. 180+ is good and 9.48 in the 1/4 mile,,, nice for sure.

I pulled the 255 cu. in. E motor out of the 33 Vicky and put it in the Studebaker,,, the Vicky now has a mild 370 cu in.. 11 to 1 pump gas motor in it,,, Ran at Zmax  11.00 at 126mph in second gear with a 3.70 rear gear.. now has a 4.56 locker in rear and should do very well if it will hook with 10" slicks.. I am guessing high 9's
