You two old f.rts crack me up! :-D We would definatly be a majority on the salt, a group photo with white hats or not, the top of our heads would blend in with the back ground.  Bald old fa.ts being the exception.

Peter Pan rocks!!!

I like the Gray hat idea for Time Only racers.  Like you wrote, we could start our own club.....the "What MPH? Club."  :)

A very quick shot at a "Gray Club" hat.

Ray,
When my dad and I went thru tech, the inspector asked why we had 200mph tires on a 130 club car, maybe he didnt look close enough but both front and rears are drag frontrunners. I think what helped us in tech is the crazy R1 powered gocart that pulled in next to us, pulled some attention away from us for sure.

Dan

r.s. did you happen to get any shots of our Stude, bright yellow 2 pits down from ya?
118.780mph in a stock(ish) Studebaker

If you're going with that design you beter make up a lot of them.  Bonneville is full of old farts!!
Get off the stove Grandad.  You're too old to be riding the range.

Dan, there is nothing wrong with running front runners on the front and rear at the salt, they are race tires.  Just make sure that they will handle the total weight of your car.  They are made to disapate heat properly and not roll off the rim if you get sideways.  I surely wouldn't want to run them on a paved surface on the rear, especially if they got loose and smoked a little.  There was a problem with bikes using the dragster front runners on the rear of their race bikes.
