Long range forecast indicates a high probability of increased horsepower for all who make it to our final event of the 2010 race season. Clear Blue Skies and temps in the low 70's are in store for us....


Get your race bike, car, truck or whatever prepped and ready, pack your bags, load your junk and get to Maxton next weekend.

The Ducati 996 is close to ready.  Had her on the Dyno at Ducpond this morning to make sure she would hold together at high rpm since she has been a street bike for several years.  She felt much better after letting out a big carbon fart or two.  :roll:  The chain guard was looking a little close until the tech realized the hub was at 12 o'clock versus 6.  That should move the chain slzck to the bottom in addition to lowering the upper run front to rear.  The steel braided fuel lines and metal fittings are all on.  The nichols breather assembly isn't in yet but I don't need it to run if it doesn't get here on time.  The kill tether is wired in but should be rotated for an easier release.

The Ninja 500 was on the Dyno at RnR this morning as well but the mechanical timing advance actually hurt mid-top end and was uninstalled so horsepower remains at 59 for now.    Picked her up this afternoon and changed the rear sprocket from 42 to 40 for a little 1/4 mile exercise tomorrow.  If I have as much fun as last time she will be seeing dragstrip next season while the duc gets to stretch its legs in the mile plus.

Temps and ski looks great, but early wind direction forecast is bad for Saturday.  I saw 9-12 mph N-NW.  Looked better for Sunday.

Steve,

The Red Hot Racing  Camaro is stripped down and looking lean and mean in my race shop. Luke has been busy and all his hard work has the Camaro ready for a new cage and spiffy interior. It should be ready for some sanding then order the tubing to build a complete NEW CAGE.

Of course I am giving Luke a few ideas and plenty of my opinions (I hope I am not boring him) LOL

News Flash!  Diesel day at the drag strip is a lot more popular than I expected.  I thought I was at a land speed venue with only 2 passes in at the 3.5 hour mark!  Nothing quite as exciting though as watching a 'honey dipper' septic truck doing the 1/4 mile.  Well maybe the fire truck doing a serious burnout...  Anyways a pair of 14 second 99 mph passes was enough for me so I packed up and can now turn my attention to the mile.  Hadn't been on the bike since Loring so it was good to get out.  See you all in a few days.
