That is awesome Ray the (living) Rat...

I had really good luck with verizon and that card.

Maybe we need to donate to you an IPAD that would be no aircard involved.

I hacked android works just as well.

I'll be off the air for a few minutes -- gotta deliver food to course workers during the turnaround.

Here's George's 3rd (and possibly last) turbo going south.

The FIM (motorcycle rules) seems to have dropped the 1% rule.  I think Mike Ack confirmed its demise during postings on last years shoot out.  The FIA have kept their 1% ruling and even apply it to their 'World Records'.

If you vehicle is capable of running many times on the straight (or 'open') course then you can pair 1&2, then 2&3, then 3&4, etc...assuming odd numbers are in one direction and evens in the opposite.  Runs 1 and 4 together is a combination that is not allowed.

Mission of mercy is completed -- we delivered food to the course worker and Drew Gatewood, the bike inspector, and are at the tower to watch Mike Nish make a pass or two -- that might be a two way run.  Mike Akatiff and crew and Speed Demon Crew and everyone down there are working to turn the car around.  Great sportsmanship.

Car is moving out to the track.  I'll be outside the truck -- gotta be at the tower  and see a fast hot rod run.  You can all be jealous of us for a few minutes -- be right back.

This is the Spectre liner with the chute deployed earlier.

Slim just made a mercy food run, bringing some chow to a few who were in dire need of it.  As a way of rewarding him, Mike Cook suggested that Slim might wanna get a good view of things by going to "the middle of the mile."  I'm not sure if he meant to stand in the center of the course, but it got a few chuckles.  Slim and Nancy are at the timing stand for the moment and I'm at about the 7 mile mark waiting for Nish to make another run.

Nish has completed the run.  Speeds were entry  254  kilo  258  mile  258   exit  262.

Not as good as the first run, but still plenty for a record.  They will not make a return run at this time.  Salt is unlocked for a while, and the sit on bikes will run next.

Dang, thank you folks so much for encouraging Nancy and me to be out here -- this is the absolute best place there is.  I wish you were all here -- but we'll do our best to bring it to you.

Temple's "Got'Cha"

Congratulations to the Nish team. I know it is not the record they wanted but at least they will not be going away empty handed. And who knows maybe they can up the record they just set.

"Got'Cha" was first run in 1974. Bill Temple entered both 2 clubs in 1976 with records in AA/BGR. At El Mirage 201.79 and Bonneville at 220.

In 1977 Greg Temple started driving "Got'Cha" and entered the El Mirage Dirty 2 club in 1979 @ 201.97. Greg went on to set two records at Bonneville, one in 1981 at 241.848, then in 1991 he set another record at 262.230

Bill and Greg were the first father and son to enter the El Mirage Dirty 2 club. They broke the D/BFR at Bonneville in 1981 @ 241 with top speed of 249. This record still stands today. In 1991 they set the A/BFR @ 262 which was later broke by Duane McKinney.

Note: Speeds are calculated  using ET for FIA, MPH is used by SCTA. Slight differences in the end result

Scott is about to make his run, rider is on the bike, wind is 7-10 tailwind/quartering fromthe highway at the tower, 6-8 from the freeway at the 7.  Course is clear, bike is moving.

Through the three mile, through the four.

Entry speed is 232   kilo is 223.9   mile   225

Driving down the course, stopped at the 7 1/4 and course worker is going out to check on him.

They can always make two more runs for another shot. I didn't have the ET's when they ran and did a quick calc. with the two speeds.
