Interesting dcebagte on the speed for the old record.  Murph, our itinerant spectator here, has an autograph on his bike's gas tank -- signed by Denis.  It says 367.338 mph.

F I M Charlie says 367 -- didn't give any decimal places in his response.

I believe Freud is right -- no 1% requirement.  FIM Charlie confirms there is no such anything requiremewnt for bikes.

Charlie reports the existing record is 367.382 for a mile and 367.558 for the kilo.  And he goes on to remind us that aren't up to snuff on metric stuff -- that it'd be cool if Rocky could run a 327.822 - - 'cause it would be a nice even 600 kilometers/hr.

Correction:  I shoulda said 372.822, not 327.822.  Ooops.

I think he wants to go considerably faster than that.

Maybe 372.+++

Cleveland is done running for speed -- and changing to a real mower deck.  They want to get into the Guiness book of records, and that requires not only speed -- but also actuaqlly cutting grass on the same day.  John Hansen (Peppermill Grop) is sending some sod from the golf course so they can do the cutting.

By the way -- I apologize for a typo a few posts ago.  600 km/hr equals 372.822 mph, not the 327.822 that I posted.  I'm going to go back and correct the typo now -- but figgered I might as well admit the error first.

About five minutes or so 'til the Ack bike is ready to run, I hear -- they're packing the chute and filling the intercooler and getting ready.
