It's in the early 5 figure range, I believe but only to 3 decimal points and they don't "round up."

Here's a look at what stopped the Speed Demon from making a great run last time.

They were making boost -- just not getting it into the motor.  With this -- they're going to pack it in for the week and head home.  The Speed Demon won't be making any more runs at this event, leaving just the Ack Attack bike to run in the morning.  Scott Horner will probably be making more runs this afternoon -- don't know if he'll try to run tomorrow.  I've hooked him up with Mike Crawford to take his bikes over to the Car/Air show at the airfield tomorrow.  Jack Rogers/Steve Strupp probably going to take the Camaro to the show, too.

That's that.

???? What about Spectre's return run?
Well, it used to be Los Angeles . . . 50 miles north of Fresno now.
Just remember . . . It isn't life or death.
It's bigger than life or death! It's RACING.

Spectre has one-half hour remaining in the time window.  It's 2.30PM, the bikes are in line to run but waiting for Spectre, and the Camaro could/will run when the track is open to them.

As for Speed Demon's week being kinda spendy (that's an understatement, hey?) -- yeah, ain't this racin' fun?

Does anyone know what the entry fee is for this meet?

    JL222

I thought I heard 17 LARGE.
Unconfirmed.
Seems it was 10-ish last year.
Definitely beyond my tuna can budget.

Spendy?  It's been an amazing week watching all these dedicated teams play at the high stakes table.  Couldn't have been more impressive.  Nearburg's record early on created excitement in my corner of the peanut gallery.  But a few days of cliff-hangers AND more runs tomorrow.  Spendy, and historical.  SSS, Ray, et al, you done good.

Jon,

Any chance to ask someone what they think caused the manifold to balloon? Backfire, fatigue or? Not likely they have a spare one of those laying around in the trailer.

Yeah , you can make a small fortune in racing all it takes is a large fortune to start with !

Tom, Ian told me that they DO have another top in the trailer -- but they won't use it.  Ah, the wonders of having a deep reserve of parts, hey?  I'll see if I can find out what they think made it happen.

Back to racing -- Spectre's driver, Amir, is back in the car and getting ready for the return.  He's got something like 15 minutes left in the window -- and the car is now being pushed from the pit and back to the starting location at this end.  Always so good to hear the car (any car!) going past on a return run -- when you and I both know the driver is highly motivated, so to speak.

Car is ready to run, course is clear and locked down, 13 minutes remaing -- and about three of that is required to get the car the seven or so miles from the start line to the exit light.

Engine is running.  Car is on the push truck, moving out.

Jon those are very interesting pictures of the SD plenum. I’m wondering how there could be an overpressure? No blow-off valve or burst panel? The other curiosity are the 4 sensors on the plenum. I can see temp and pressure but what would the other two be?

Looks like that manifold needed ribs on the out side like a blower case to stop the expansion.
