QUOTE:  And Glen, as usual, is right!

So is Glenn FREUD and Einstein.

The time when they are equal is when all the numbers beyond 3 decimal points are ALL ZEROS.

FREUD

doesn't relativity mean that the time for the mile measured inside the vehicle will be different to that of the beams  :?
I'll go back to my lathe, I think I understand that :)

Speed Demon is putting the bigger V-8 in the car now.  They still have one turbo remaining so will try the 347-inch motor with that one blower.  The motor is just being hooked to the hoist -- won't run 'til tomorrow morning, no doubt.

Amir Rosenbaum is about ready to make a run - which we know 'cause the helicopter has lifted off.  They're icing the intercooler now -- probably 15 minutes, at least, 'til they run.

Spectre is supposedly only three or four minutes from a run now.  Got enough ice in your drink to last a little while?

We're locked down.

Engine is running, canopy is closed.

By the way, they've just fired up the Nish engine in the pit.  Good to hear.

Back to Spectre -- the car is under way.

What's the big deal.......timing to seven decimal points and presenting the record to 3 decimal points?

Spectre is through the zero mile at the mountain end of the international course.  Through the one, heads up, here he comes!

By the three and running fast.  By the four, entering the measured mile.

Entry speed   401   kilo   409   mile 408   exit  chute is out

Thanks, Mike Cook.  When's the last time any of us were at a meet with four cars over 400 mph?  COOL!!!

Man, that brings tears to my eyes.  The car stopped about 200 yards short of the pit, so the Speed Demon crew all ran out to gather the chute and Ron got in the SD push truck to push Amir into the pit.  Sportsmanship is great.

Nish is going to trailer to the 12 mile during the Spectre turnaround.

Spectre will probably make a return run.  Spectre  entry 401  mile  408.9  kilo 409.1  exit 415

53 minutes remain 'til the window closes.

Is Amir okay?  Well, probably has a silly grin on his face and won't get it off for quite a while.

Nish just rolled past us headed for the 12.

Checking on the statistic rightnow -- but this might have been the fastest pass ever for any car, on gasoline.  We're researching -- you folks are welcome to see if you can confirm it, too.

By the way, it sounds like he'll need a 412 return run to get the record he's chasing - must be about 410, right?

Yes, and he's gotta exceed the old record by at least 1%.

OK so he needs to average better then 410.384 in the kilo and 409.920 in the mile

based on the first run numbers he needs 412 in kilo and 411 in the mile

And remember, Bob -- this is the A motor, not the AA -- they hurt the 527 so swapped to the 485 last night.  Your basic hot rod motor, though -- even a cast crankshaft.
