Okay, Speed Demon is running, canopy is down, about to leave the far end.

Car is moving.  Through the zero.  Being careful --lots of new parts.  Wait -- George drive slow?  Ain't likely to happen. . .

Through the two and shut it down after the three, coasting.  Smoke coming from the car, fire and ambulance rolling towards him, still moving fast, lots of smoke, through the five.

Appears to be coming through the exhaust pipe, slowing, no chute, pit fire truck has rolled from the pit.

Car has stopped on the tarp, looks like oil through the exhaust caught fire.  Cap on the exhaust pipe, lots of excitement in the Speed Demon pit.

How close to the ground are the skirts on Speed Demon?
Unless it's crazy, ambitious and delusional, it's not worth our time!

Less than an inch of ground clearance from the rubber skirts on the Speed Demon.

George is out of the car.  I heard one quick blast from a fire extinguisher, but nothing else.  Everyone is standing by the car -- not much can be bad if they're all that close.

The worrisome stuff is over -- and so is the last (the brand new) turbo on the Speed Demon.  So -- fire and ambulance are heading back to station near the tower, and Nish crew is rarin' to go.

Nish is about ready to run, but will not do a hot lap -- will use chute and go to the pit for a quick check.

About donating -- I've got the Paypal account set up to feed the landracing.com checking account, so I can pay the bills through that method.  I pay the server company via their Paypal and write checks for the rest.  Yes, there's a fee to use Paypal -- it's not enough to be more than a minor inconvenience versus the ease of you folks being able to donate easily.

Nish car is running, canopy is going down.

Car is on the push truck and is underway.

Past the zero mile and moving out.  By the two mile, moving well.

My AT&T air card will never drop a connection on me again.  I think it mighta fallen outta the Burb and got run over.

I'm not sayin nuttin about the power-braking and wheelspin that could possibly have led to its untimely demise.

Nish is by the four mile, entering the timed mile/kilo.

Entry speed   315   kilo   317.8   mile 317.8   exit 320.4

Talk about cruise control?

He drove it into the pits, no chute, all brakes, great driving.  Blipped the throttle as he got under the awning and shut it off -- perfect.  Thanks for the quick blip, Mike -- gave us a nice whiff of fuel.

When SSS gets the Paypal donations, he sends me a check.  Not to worry, system works fine and your donations are truly appreciated.
