The Nish car is ready to run, engine has been started.  At the one and bogey-ing!

At the two and gaining speed.

Through the five  395 entry speed

kilo   400   mile  400  exit

Chute deployed

Through the two and coasting nicely.

Stopped on the tarp in the pit -- arrived in the pits with the engine running.

Speeds:  Entry  395.2     kilo   400.2    mile  400.1    exit 404.5

Dick, if that last video that they posted is recent and their mower sounds as the new one does, it's the "Top Fuel" of lawn mowers.

Stay out of his way. He'll crash your motorhome.

Some people get all the plum jobs.

I'll be here on Saturday...if my information is correct, Dick Lague will be filming the lawnmower effort and I'm gonna hang around for that extra day to get some still fotos.

I see the Nish team taking the body off the car.  No information about what's next for them.

Ray, have your ear plugs handy.

That is a  B A D  mower.

It could probably cut and bale hay.

Jon's done a great job of posting fotos from the pit area.  I'm gonna post some speed shots and some odds 'n ends.

Just had a cool moment over here.  Mike Cook walked over with Terry Nish -- so I could read him some of the comments you folks have posted.  Terry was all misty eyed -- thanks so much.  He enjoyed hearing form you -- the racers that know how much the Nish family has worked over the years (just like all of us have done).  The film crew on site was here with Cook and Nish, so maybe when the Discovery documentary is released you'll be able to see Terry's reactions.  Thanks so much for telling him of your feelings for the team.

The Speed Demon is flying to and from California to try to get parts to repair the damage to the rear end.

what was the fuel that the spirit of rett had in the tank.
The speed that you wish to achieve is only limited by the depth of your wallet.

We got some good shots of Nish and Cook over here.  I'll get 'em on the site in a little while.  Right now we've got jamie Williams about to run the bike again.  He's sitting on it - will ride from the pits to the 2 mile to start.  Last run he rode from two to the eight - and back from there.  Problem was that they only therefore had a two mile runup on the way back down here.  This time they'll go three in each direction.

Williams has left the pit for his run.  Be back with updates in a minute.

Cook reports he'll run from the one mile this first run, to the ten.  FIM Charlie will catch him and turn him around.

Cook just showed us a copy of the surveyor's certificate for the course.  $4k to have the course measured and marked.  YEOOWWWW!

I don't know what Spiritof Rett runs in the fuel tank -- but FIA doesn't differentiate on fuels, just on N/A of forced induction.  I'll ask, just for the sake of letting all know.  Won't 'til later, though.

Slim,

Ask about the 9" Ford rearend they had made for the car? Will they put that in if they cannot get parts for the Quickchange?

Thanks,

Tom G.
