Do any of you really think Ack won't take a shot  at 400?

It's such a strain accomplishing the record and they go home tired.

One of these times it may just be impossible to not challenge 400.

Close but no cigar?

Maybe, but not out of the question.

He told me years ago, " If I once get the record we will hang it up" but after they got

it and then it slipped away............."Well I meant it but something happened."

See what odds you can get on it in Vegas.

Thanks Mike, Rocky and  crew.......

Only Rocky really knows.......It was a  h e l l  of a ride.

Quite an accomplishment for a group of retired flat trackers.

But you must remember...Chris Carr is also a flat tracker.

When mike was asked if they would make another run he said no with no hesitation his words where it's back in our name were going home in one piece. I think it was a smart move considering the troubles the team was fighting all week. Hats off to a heads up team they will be back if challenged. Do any of you think they will be, and buy who.

Jr,

The team plan was always about safety and Mike asked me about the record and we both said if you get it (the team) you wait until it's broken...no sense in taking chances with the riders safety when trying to set records over 300 mph in a M/C streamliner.

Congrats to all involved..

Let's go back to the coffee mugs Nancy and I are offering to Forum members (and anyone else, for that matter).  We've proceeded to design the back side of the mug with a list of Vehicle, Mile (speed), Exit (speed) and Record (if that vehicle set one).

We've had a few orders come in already - and hope to have those filled before we leave here tomorrow morning.  Orders that come in later on will be produced as soon as we can get 'em done, and shipped by the 15th of October.

$10 each, plus $5 for shipping 1 - 4 mugs.  Buy a set of four and have 'em ready for when you're bench racing with your buddies this winter.  Order by email or PM to me.

Well, it is an item for sale -- but I put it in this topic because the mugs are specific for this topic.

We've got orders for 28 of them so far -- including some from folks who forgot to tell me what color they want, and one of the teams that competed at the Shootout.

I'm pleased to be a continuing part of this most memorable event.  Get a mug so you are helped to remember, too.

The mugs are square on the outside and round on the inside.  The interstitial area is hollow, so there's a bit of captive air insulation to keep your beverage at your chosen temperature for longer than otherwise it might.

Jon, are all of the vehicles listed on one mug or  each one separate mugs. I would like one with all on one mug if you have them that way. see you in a few days.

Glen, the mugs show the speeds and names of the Spectre, Speed Demon, Nish car, and the Spirit of Rett.  Also on there is the Ack Attack with speeds.  Each of the three vehicles that set new records (Spirit of Rett, Nish, and Ack Attack) also have the new record speed shown.

Now the bad news -- we made as many as we could before leaving the shop today, but all that I've got with me are those that were ordered before mid-day today.  Sorry Wayno and glen -- I'll have to ship yours - and all of those which orders came in tonight, here at the home email 'puter  Keep sending your orders -- we've got the list with us and will be writing down the incoming names and requested colors -- then will pre-order the blank cups so we can produce them as soon as we get back home after WF.

Thanks for the interest, folks.  I hoped these would be as popular as they've turned out to be.

PS  When you're driving through Land's End -- ask Lynda for a look-see at her cup.  Then you'll know just what you're getting.
