Pre 1916 Motorcycle Cannonball Endurance Run. Coast to Coast.
« on: September 15, 2010, 12:19:07 AM »
There is a Pre-1916 Motorcycle Cannonball endurance run that started a few days ago. They started out in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina and will finish up in Santa Monica, California. One of our very own Gear Grinders, Pat Kelly (AKA Mongo), is riding an old shovelhead with a sidecar and he is part of the rescue squad. He is there to haul any bikes who may be in need of a tow throughout the race. Also running the cannonball is Shinya Kimura, a San Diego Roadster club member. He is riding an old Indian. For those of you who would like to follow their progress, I have included a link so that you may do so. They update the race daily and photo's are included. Enjoy.

Thanks Willie. That looks like a really fun event.

I watched the video of the start and it wasn't bad even if the videographer was as interested in the girl shooting movies across the road as he was in the bikes! :-D :-D :-D

Thanks for the post Willie !!!

A couple of months ago I stopped by Rick G's acreage (the guy that helps me "make this piece fit that piece" on the W'sFDB) and there was an oversized spam can sitting on his workbench. It turns out that it was an oil tank for Bill Rodencal's race bike!

The website was a lot of fun. Thanks again Willie!

Mark

p.s. I really love name dropping when it is a couple of local MKE motorcycle guys doing it right!!
