Debbie just wrote on facebook that Dean backed up his record with a 213 for a new record of 215 on his M/BG-1000.

John, I am sorry if you misconstrued anything I said as being negative about Robbie or Ron.  I was only speaking of my own concerns about not only being unable to race, but possibly incuring the wrath of my fellow racers if I was the reason for a holdup on the course.
I was only citing them as the victims of bad luck, not as problem causers.
As I stated, I have nothing but admiration for Robbie and Ron.

Bob,

No worries  I just was asking if they held up the racing after the spin as I believe they did not know the tire was hurt until after towing to Warnerville..

Two 500.00 dollar tires should arrive today and hopefully they have another chance at the record, that little car with the HP from Bob J. has set a ton of records and it's great to see Robbie out there and not too mention what his father has done for the SCTA as well..99.9% of the racers have no idea :-o

Hope for great salt, safe racing and good coverage..

John --

You're right in not leaving Bob Jucewic out of the equation.

Several years ago Ron was inducted into the Dry Lakes Racers Hall of Fame.

Robbie was as proud as was his Dad.

I have images of them at home but I'm not there now.

I'm awake, I'm up and at the staging line with the bike team we inherited yesterday.  But before that story --

Return runs are over now and the vehicles are just getting into impound.  I don't have the speeds yet, but I know a few things.

Dean Sabatinelli backed up his run with a 217 -- and didn't hurt a tire.  Kim Krebs did not back up hers of yesterday -- ran about 200 on the nose, and even against yesterday's fast run -- the average was about 210 and she needed a 212.  The Salt Cat Jaguar is back in impound, and Jack Rogers in the old Doll-Fox-Christopherson Camaro is there, too, having backed up his 251 from yesterday with a 248 or so.  I'll get those numbers corrected later -- we were chatting in the truck as qwe drove onto the salt and I didn't write down the numbers.

The little 50 cc bike is back in impound.  I didn't see any other bikes there.  Not much of anyone, I'm sorry to say.

I'll post and then go on with the rest of the story.

Yesterday we were hanging around the pit, being all morose and bummed with the broken motor.  Then Dan Warner arrived with a couple of racers in his truck.  They rode here from So Cal on their bikes -- one of which is an S1000 BMW.  They wanted to run the Bimmer -- but didn't have legal leathers, so Dan thought maybe we could hook them up with a suit.  Well, now we're crewing for the couple.

He got the bike through inspection okay, but with a 200 MPH max. sticker on it for the first run.  He's in production 1000 cc class, which record is about 194 1/2.  Andy, the rider, made his one run last night -- turned a 194.0 or so.  Decent for right off the street.  The bike, by the way, is the dealership's demo unit -- has 4500 miles on it.

So -- this morning we took the bike back to Matt, the bike inspector, showed him the timing slip, got the 200MPH speed limit sticker removed, and now we're back in line.  He'll run the long course this time and see what it'll do, hey?

In other news, we're right behind Skip and Gary in Skip's B/BGS 'liner, and Bob Ragsdale's Stude is up in front of us, too.  The course is held -- a racer lost a muffler on the track (maybe) and they're searching for it.

Humidity 30%, wind zero, DA is 4,813 feet, temp. is 62.  Darn, nice weather, hunh?

The Joint Venture made a run earlier -- switched off about the 1 1/2 -- don't know why yet.  Ye Olde Dragon just ran - and it was the next run or two after that that the muffler went missing.

Hunh?  A muffler on a racer vehicle?  I wonder if the announcer got that bit of data correct. . .

Click to post - will be back.

Next on the line is #3182 -- Mark DeLuca on the Forstall-Knecum-DeLuca bike.  He's going down the course.

Quarter mile speed:  248.235    first mile  249.827  Middle mile 249.436     last mile  205.425

Qualified in both first and second -- running on yesterday's 241 record.  Good run, Mark.

More photos - - -

Andy (our new guy) leaving the line last evening:

And here he is before he left

By the way -- sooner or later we'll get all of these photos put into the Photogallery (tab is located on the home page of this site).  It'll take a month or two before everything gets there -- so for now, enjoy these shots.

We're about 6 or so from the start line, so I'll sign off for a while and get some other work done.  Maybe get some photos, maybe get some speeds from other vehicles, too.  Later - - -
