Bob, the web elf that does kool stuff for SSS on this site has been kind enough to rush thru the addition of some of my photos from Miller Motorsports Park from last year.
http://www.landracing.com/gallery/index.php?cat=94The individual collections are for the Cycle Fest that follows BUB every year (well, the last few years, anyway), Grand-Am, NASCAR West and the World Superbike event.
Since Miller's is only about 90 miles east of the salt, it's a natural for many folks to stop to attend or participate in events there.
This coming weekend is a combination of the Grand-Am season finale and a road course event for NASCAR West. Last year Herschel McGriff (84 years old at the time, I believe...he won the Carerra Panamericana in 1950) raced in that NASCAR West event...bad luck bit him on the butt in the form of shredded tires, but he hung in there to finish.
The Grand-Am title has already been clinched by Ganassi's team of Scott "Hi to my family back home" Pruett and Memo Rojas who (I think) brought the TelMex sponsorship with him. There otta be some real good racing there with the Gainsco Red Dragon (John Fogerty and Alex Gurney) out to redeem some pride after gettin beat up on this season and the Brumos Porsches are in the same boat.
Anyway, as I wrote, these are photos from last year's events, but they might be good entertainment for an evening and provide some information about MMP in Tooele:
