STD 5218 250 MPG Report
« on: September 06, 2010, 12:27:38 AM »
Tucker was STDs third rider. She rides the cousin to Ed's motor, a 1970 Triumph Trophy 250. And in good old Triumph tradition she had to pay to play but not quite as bad as Ed did. Her shifter hung up so we ended up flipping the plate so the quadrant could catch some fresh edges. That also reversed her shift pattern to one up, three down and she liked that as a racing pattern. She then went out and tore it up. In her words, "My record setting down run was 81.943 mph and the return run into an 11 mph headwind was 76.727 for the two way average of 79.335.  This tops my old record by 10 mph."
And she completed her run just in time, by the time she pulled into inpound her shifter jammed again. I suspect the kickstart rachet nut came loose. All in all, not bad for a chick celebrating her 60th year!

It would appear more congratulations are in order.  Smacking a record by 10 mph is no small feat.  Congrats!!
Get off the stove Grandad.  You're too old to be riding the range.

She only made three runs. Her shifter wasn't working. We pulled the plate and reversed it thinking the quadrant/plate interface was worn. I just opened it up and a closer inspection revealed a 75 cent spring had knocked her off the track. Sheeze.
