For GM products there should be a host of after market programmers, depending on the engine. Make sure you get one that keeps your original program so you can put it back in just incase you need to get it worked on under warrenty. Several years back a guy run his new GTO with the ausie engine, in the 150 club, forgot to remove his drivline loops, blew the engine up a few months later GM said sorry you've been racing this car no warrenty.
I have a hypertech program in my 454 vortech programed for economy and 85 octane, and it retains the original factory program in the programmer, in case I need to put it back. I don't think running WFO at about 4500 RPM for a few minutes should scuttle the mill; but one never knows.
