How do I find out what set the record???
« on: August 30, 2010, 08:51:39 PM »
Is there a way to find out what vehicle, be it bike or auto, set a record? I am interested in the Production class? Just wondering what body style/Make was used to set each record. Any and all help would be appreciated.

That link won't help you if you are looking to find out if a Camero or Mustang was used.

I have the cert cards. Post a question here and I will try to find the info you are looking for.

DW, I was looking to see what vehicle make, model and year set the production coupe/sedan class for the following:
E/PRO
D/PRO

You help is much appreciated.

Both of these records were set by gen. lll Camaros, unless the records were reset at Speedweek 2010

Mike is correct. Cameros all, the bread and butter of Bonneville - Gen III GM.

Great idea, Dan. And thanks for thinking of the rest of us by going "public".  :-) After all you have the certified data and it doesn't get any better than that!

Again Dan is the Man, willing to help out!
I have an idea that would not be too tough to intiate. I feel there is enough room in the records posted to install another column between entry and driver. There should be enough room for a Maximum 4 letter abbreviation of the make plus the full model name of the entry for every record entry from now on!

Wouldn't you want to know type of engine, body mods, etc.?

Not every one uses a small block Chevy, full belly pan or takes complete advantage of available aero mods allowed by class rules.

No No, I'm not trying to be difficult and cause alot of extra work!!!!!!! But the Bike records show the Bike make(But not the Rider's name?) Maybe it would look like this:

                                         PRODUCTION COUPE AND SEDAN-/PRO

[ A ][ Fox/Doll/Christophersen   ][ Ford Mustang ][ J. Fox                    ][ 08/94 ][ 225.575 ]
[ B ][ Doll-Fox-Christophersen   ][ Chev Camaro ][  S. Christophersen    ][ 08/01 ][ 230.342 ]

Kinda sorta shows what I was thinking.

I think at least engine(ie 4, 6, 8 cyl) & displacement should be available.  But from what I am finding out from other posts, there are no allowed body mods for production class.

Actually, a spreadsheet (downloadable from the SCTA site) with all available data would be really nice!

Hmmmm, I'd be willing to be a clerk-typist/office drudge for that type of project.

For General information, not all records set at Bonneville are set at SCTA meets.
Anyone that runs at the USFRA meet can also set a record at Bonneville.

Tom, aren't the records from USFRA recorded with the SCTA records?
