class for station wagon
« on: August 14, 2010, 12:33:22 PM »
I have been interested in salt flats for years. I just picked up a 62 Chevy Bel Air wagon in mint condition (rust)
Is there a catagory for this type of vehicle,,, I would like to build something to have some fun with. High speeds are not in the budget.

After reading the rulebook I am more confused on engine classes etc... I am thinking I could run in the classic category. Does anyone have any suggestions

thanks,

Doug

Sounds like it would run in Classic Production category. Depending on if you modify the body or not. Engine classes are simple enough. Depends on size and if its blown or not. Engine swap takes you out of Pro as would a blower. Then you would be in Classic Gas Coup

How about the 130 mph Club ?

Or use it to tow a race car.
I guess the answer is "a Secret" .

Glad someone asked! I have pondered entering my daily driver, but i already know where it sits for stats so id just be wasting track time. It shuts off at 120 and I hit that on a regular basis so its no fun anymore :(
Speed never killed anyone. Suddenly becoming stationary...that's what gets you
