I'm dumb as a post but how about dragging your cursor over the entire message which should put it all in a black box and then hitting delete?

How about up at the upper right corner -- where you've got choices including "remove"?  It doesn't say delete, but I betcha, now that I think about it, that it'll work.

Forgive me for not knowing all that stuff -- 'cause my controls include a bunch of buttons that aren't out there for "regular"* members, I think -- so I'm not all that sure what you're seeing.  Yes, I could sign up as the not-owner and have a plain ol' account -- but it's easier to have you folks let me know when I'm right or wrong.  Thanks.

Just modify the whole thing by replacing it with a period or something.  Did you say something you regreted?

I sure have.

Stan, according to a well respected member of the Musical community Gibby Haines it's "better to regret something that you have done than something that you haven't ".....that is of course from the hit "Jesus built my Hot-Rod"...

Anyway Stan and Jon...I know you're both wordsmiths....to DElete, would assume something has been "leted" first would it not?...and to "REgret" something would assume , that ,well, you have already "greted" it?

No, no help at all.
Few understand what I'm trying to do but they vastly outnumber those who understand why...................

PS. Just delete your message and put OOPS. LOL.

The delete button is never a good idea. Imagine after 51 spectacular pages of Shootout 2009 the originator decided to hit the delete button.

If you really regret the post you can erase the contents and send a message to Slim requesting that he delete it.
Well, it used to be Los Angeles . . . 50 miles north of Fresno now.
Just remember . . . It isn't life or death.
It's bigger than life or death! It's RACING.

Interesting. . .  I've received a good number of requests over the last few years asking me to delete a post or a topic, and usually, when I've written back to the originator saying he can do it himself -- I've later been told that indeed, he did so.  This is about the first time that it didn't work.  Maybe it's because he was trying to delete the entire thread.

I usually kick it back to the person asking me to delete - so I give him yet another chance to examine whether it's really that important to delete it.  Often, in the light of another few hours/days rational thought - the urge to make something go away fades.  And as I said, I forget what buttons are available for hoi polloi - seeing how many I have here makes me not need to know.  I guess I do need to know, though, so will find a sign-on that doesn't have owner authority and take a look-see.

So - if you really want me to delete something you've put in the Forum -- know that I'll make you think about it long and hard.  By the way, when I do eventually try to delete your stuff -- I get one or even two prompts asking if I really want to continue.  It isn't easy - and I think it's fine that way.

I do that all the time. Especially after breaking my #1 public forum rule "Never post after consuming alcohol"
