The Mass ---- Guys helped put out an oil fire on a Harley last year that was right under the carburetor. Never backed away. As a result they came back this year with a quad that had a pair of 5 lb fire extinguisher mounted to the front. They were prepared ... if a bike had a problem they pushed it back to the pits from long shutdown --- all 2-1/2 miles ... don't come any better.

I believe that was Chris Berardi.  He brought his '03 Impala this year and ran it a couple of runs.

Those stats are amazing...and looks like everyone got the hint for Sunday!  Thank you for sending the riders/drivers down the track with their gear set up right!  Your attention to the details is appreciated!

No course worker positions would be complete without racer and non-racer volunteers, and at one time or another nearly every attendant helps make an event possible. Some jobs are more visible than others. Those who set up and tear down the course (the dirtiest jobs) and the timing folks (highest pressure) are pretty much unseen. The tech inspectors get the most arguements. The start line crew really are our last defence from our own safety omissions or parts failures. But the last people to see racers uninjured or alive-- I might have to disagree
