pulley supports
« on: August 02, 2010, 10:51:05 AM »
im using 3" wide pulleys to joint the engines together on my twin panther

i need to support the outer edge with a bearing of some type. been looking and really cant see much in the way of a simple solution.

was thinking along the lines of a plumber block bearing on the outer primary case with a top hat adapter going into the end of the pulley

just seems kinda crude - and i also need to make sure i can get a plumber block that will run at about 6000rpm happily enough

is there a better more tried and tested solution?

I have seen Greek couplers the best I have seen is a play on the way a lot of hyd pumps are driven on the front of Ford backhoes from the '60s may still be????  This is the way the Supercharger Store drives their big Prochargers. Can take incredible amount of  abuse.
