Aluminum Wheel Run Out
« on: June 26, 2010, 12:30:57 AM »
I had a long conversation with Eric Vaughn today about different aluminum wheels and the run out problems they have and the effects at high speed.  It seems that even most of the wheel companies have had issues with this (including one that sells a $800+ spindle mount that had to be redone).  I don’t mind designing the centers and hubs and building them, but would prefer to find an aluminum wheel that’s good.  Most of the companies get scared when you tell them you want to run 70 psi.  Looking for any experiences anyone has had with aluminum wheels good  or bad and how much run out they had.  Tony
