The two fellers from Mass. -- ran this at Bonneville with a Mercedes motor and managed a 219 -- but darn near went broke trying to get the old motor to stay competitive, I hear.  So now the car is back -- with an Audi 2.15L motor.  Nicely done -- I hope the photos show it well.  Ice water/air intercooler with tank in the rear (fuel and water in the same neighborhood) and water tank in the front, too.  They plan to go out west in a month and a half and bump their record in gas and then switch to fuel and by week's-end have a driver in the 200 MPH Club.  They need a 222 for the hat.

Okay -- we're running again.  Todd went 174.13 on the SC bike, the MAXX2 car just blew threw at 205, and Walt slowed a bit to a 97.  More later, okay?

As Jon said, I'm struggling with my fuel mapping for the turbo 750. It has moments of real power, but those are just moments right now. On my first run, the gps showed 109mph at the 1/2 mile sign and then it just went away. I was able to bring the motor back a little on that run but it only passed the traps at 96mph. I have logged boost at almost 14psi WOT, but I have also logged A/F ratios from 8 to 18...ain't turbos fun :-o
I seem to be going the wrong way with my map adjustments, my speeds for 5 passes have all been slow. So, I will try a new approach in the morning...never give up

Today's best for me was 102.326. My first pass was a 100.5 and my worst was 97, which I did as an experiment going through the lights in third gear 6600 rpm.

Noticed that Eric (racerx) hit 112 today, he's running in the 350cc class, not too shabby for a little 15 cid engine.

Well, I finally made it to Maxton yesterday. Met some nice people, got hot, sweated a lot, got my log book, bought a couple of T-shirts,  learned some things, and had a good time. There weren`t as many cars running as I would have liked to have seen, I`m sure the heat kept some people away, but some of the ones that were there were impressive. The motorcycle guys must have a hard time getting on those bikes with those giant balls they must have to ride that fast!  I really liked the way things were run in a very professional way. The grounds were very well kept and the track seemed to be in great shape. I`m sure it takes a lot of effort to put on a meet like this, Thank you all for your hard work!
I didn`t have my car ready yet so I brought the tow vehicle, The `36 Ford woodie. Thank God it has A/C or we would have burst into flames on the way back home to Greensboro.

                                                                                                Thanks again guys, Jeff

Here's some information.  As far as we know, Dean's 218 on the "gas" bike -- as the 1107 SGRacing bike -- was the fast bike of the meet.  Umh, Nancy made a couple of passes on the Gixxer 1000, just to get back on a bike, and her best run was a nice 154.  First rides in more than a half year.  I took the ZX14S down the track -- went 179 and change twice in a row.

Dean got a 185 record on the 1000 turbo -- after multiple 184s.  And the 185 record was a few tenths above the record -- so he worked for it.

Walt's recently made a 102 pass again, and Josh Owen rode the 1302 nitrous bike 209.3.  A Harley bagger just went 182 -- belt-driven supercharger.  Sounds fine!

We had one new 200 MPH Club member -- 205.something on a 205.something a little slower.  But a green hat was awarded.  It was the MAXX2 circle track car - don't remember the driver's name.

TJ Cannon, fresh out of the army, made at least one run on the GSXR 1000, too -- 171 mph.  Welcome home, TJ.

And the star of the weekend is Eric (RacerX) -- who not only got in that 112, but made 23 runs this weekend.  Eat your hearts out, folks that have to settle for three runs in a meet.  Of course -- he got in all that track time 'cause it's so hot that lots of people didn't attend, and lots went home early because of the heat.

I'll take another mosey around the pits and see if there's more to let you hear.

Randy Smith's Turbo 750 Buell ... He was chasing the fuel injection all weekend but he is determined and he certainly has the ability to get done.

Congrats on the M/G 1000  185+ record Dean. High 90's, high humidity and multiple attempts; must have been the 3 lbs you lost in sweat that got you over the hump. :-D I'm waiting for someone to bring a BMW and take them all. LSL

My first time out with the "Iron Dog" ... 1350 Buell engine ... 4 runs 142-145-146-147 .... lots of power down stairs but falls on its face at the big end where I need it ... lost the tach on the 3 run ... who knows of a tach that won't shake it self apart ...
