Just watched the video of the Indy Car. If I was an Indy car driver and saw this video I would not be real confident about the fire crews, neither of the hose equiped trucks worked, yikes!

Hope you don't get hung up like she did :-o
I call them ''fire intrapment devices'' of course we have to watch out for walls and violent tire shake
Like I've said in the past the manufactures and businesses are drooling
Look at the add at top of this page.

Why didn't the first guy run up with a 20 pound "purple K" (dry chemical) extinguisher and put the damn fire out....Those guys are not prepared............................

Looks like the guy that had the extinguisher couldn't pull the pin because of his heavy cloves.

WTF! that was the first time i saw that video! I only saw 1 guy that was concerned about getting the driver out....which he did... did ya see the dumb azz with the fire bottle.... he stayed on the left side of the car so he wouldn't burn his fire suit... he was actually reaching around the other people to kinda squirt at the fire..... these guys need to come get a lesson from the SCTA

Kent, That was my point exactly!!!  They should give a contract to the SCTA  for our voluntary fire crews for training those guys. Tony

Hans

IF I remember correctly your headrest now has to be SFI material--that is a change

If it is true that it has to be an SFI 45.2 head rest, there will only a few of manufacturer's that are legal.  This being the case I saw a bunch on the salt last year that would be illegal.  Drivers might want to check for the SFI Tag on the head pads.
